Lighten up your room.
Adding some lights to your room would not only brighten up your room, but also create a soothing environment at night.
Just make sure that the colour is not too "loud", or you'll end up getting irritated by these lights.

Cut your old jeans into a perferct looking shorts!
Since the monsoon season has just begun, and its still mostly hot and humid outside, shorts is the best thing to wear to escape this heat.If you buy a branded one, you'll end up spending around Rs.1000 for a little and plain piece of denim. So i suggest that you take out that old pair of jeans and cut it into shorts!I think this is something we all have tried doing but ended up ruining the jeans. So now i'll show how to perfectly cut 'em!
Okay so here goes..
Things you'll need-
- A pair of jeans
- Scissors
- Inch tape
- Chalk
Procedure-
- Take the inch tape and measure the length of the shorts that you want and make a small mark from the chalk there.
- Now, cut the jeans. I suggest that you leave an extra margin and then cut. I did this and found it very helpful as i wanted to fold it up like in the pic. Also it made the sewing easy.
- Now, fold the jeans and cut the other leg carefully so that the length of both legs is same.
- Fold the jeans. 2 or 3 folds will be sufficient. If you dont want to fold it, you can also add a beautiful white lace. Laces are very much in this season. Or you can also just sew it neatly to keep it simple.
- If you are going to keep it folded permanently, then sew it along the fold. If not, leave it like that. Also if you're adding lace to your shorts, make sure that you sew it neatly.
TADA!

MAKE YOUR NAME WIND CHIME!
Okay, so here's my first creative project.
This is not an easy one, but once you make it, it looks absolutely amazing!
You can hang this from your room wall near a window or away from it. It wouldn't matter because this wind chime won't "chime" when the wind blows.
This is not an easy one, but once you make it, it looks absolutely amazing!
You can hang this from your room wall near a window or away from it. It wouldn't matter because this wind chime won't "chime" when the wind blows.
Things you'll need-
- Paper Mache
- Pearl colours
- Thin wooden sticks or needles (big ones)
- A bowl of water
- A flat polythene
- Plastic threads
- Pearls (of your choice)
- Thermocol sheet
- A key ring
Procedure-
- Start by wetting the paper mache and mould it nicely by adding small amounts of water. Be careful not to add too much water, otherwise you won't be able to shape the letters.
- When you find the paper mache appropriate for shaping the letters, start cutting it with a knife in the form of letters. Also pay attention to the thickness of the letters , that the thickness should be uniform and the same for all the letters. The top has to be shaped very carefully cut a sphere or whichever shape you need, and then keep it in a low depth bowl.
- Once you have finished shaping it, carefully insert a thin wooden stick or a big needle right along the length of the letters. This is a bit difficult as the letters are very wet and delicate at this time. So try to do it very carefully. And also do the same for the top, 4 or 5 holes in the center to tie threads for its hanging on the wall should not be forgotten.
- Now, let it dry. When you find the letters a bit strong, carefully pull the stick/needle out. The letters should not be too dry, nor should they be too wet. Also there is a chance of the letters getting cracked. So, don't panic, if you see a crack developing, just wet your fingers and gently move them along the crack and leave it to dry.
- This is my favorite part.. after they dry, color them. I used pearl colors as they shine and are brighter than simple poster colors You can use any color of your choice. You can also add some glitter to make it look more attractive.
Here they are!
7. Now collect all the pearls you need, and tie them in the plastic thread. also decide the length of the threads in advance and then tie the pearls. You can also cut some different shapes out of the thermocol sheet (i chose stars!)
8. Now, sew the thread in the letters and tie them tightly in the end. And also sew the threads in the holes in the "top" and tie it very very tightly to the key ring too.
9. It's ready! Hang it on your room wall and watch it twinkle!
